Tonight we enjoyed a rehearsed reading of Impact Theatre Company’s of 'At A Loss', a short play by Ann Blake. (seen above on the right with Dr Marita Ryan) Ann just completed a Masters in Drama and Theatre Studies in NUI Galway. She wrote 'At A Loss' as part of her studies and it was first produced by Galway’s Fregoli Theatre Company in Muscailt Arts Festival 2009. The script won Ann the ‘Jerome Hynes Award for Best One-Act Play 2009’ while the performance won awards for ‘Best Director’, ‘Best Actress’ and ‘Best Actor’.
Impact Theatre Company’s Niamh Bowen directed the rehearsed reading with a cast including Norma Lowney, Darren Maher and Aidan Crowe.
Following the reading was the discussion with the writer, director and actors chaired by Dr. Marita Ryan of Mary Immaculate College, opening the different processes that each contribute to the audience.
